Notes

Equipment:
  • Use a 24-well mini muffin pan (exact product link in blog post). Alternatively, use a standard 12-well muffin pan to make 12 large rolls. Increase baking time for larger rolls.
Ingredients:
  • This recipe uses one 8-oz Pillsbury crescent roll package. You may use the “crescent dough sheet” or “crescent dough rolls” version.
  • Nuts: Use finely chopped lightly toasted pecans. Pecans pair wonderfully with honey, orange zest, and cinnamon. Alternative nut options- almonds, walnuts, or pistachios.
  • Orange Zest: It is important to use freshly grated orange zest! Citrus zest contains oils that provide fresh and vibrant flavor. If you don’t have fresh oranges, simply omit this ingredient.
Storage:
  • Cool orange pecan mini rolls to room temperature. Then, store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. Overtime, the rolls will stale and harden.
  • If you plan to reheat leftovers, keep the rolls unglazed. Reheat unglazed rolls in a toaster oven. Then, top with glaze before serving.
