Orange Spiced Tea

This orange spiced tea is steeped with orange peel, cinnamon, and ginger. It’s the perfect tea to cozy up with this autumn season!

Ingredients

  • 5 bags black tea
  • peel from 1 medium orange
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 2-inch ginger, peeled and sliced into disks
  • 6 cups boiled water

Spiced Simple Syrup:

  • ½ cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 3-inch orange peel
  • 1-inch ginger, peeled and sliced into disks

Instructions

  • In a large heat proof bowl, add black tea bags, orange peel, cinnamon sticks, and sliced ginger. Pour just boiled water over spices. Allow to steep for 6 minutes.
  • Strain out tea bags, orange peel, cinnamon, and sliced ginger.
  • Serve warm or chilled. Add spiced simple syrup according to your sweetness preferences.

Spiced Simple Syrup:

  • In a medium pot, add water, sugar, cinnamon sticks, orange peel, and ginger. Bring to a boil until sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat and allow mixture to steep for 30 minutes. Strain out cinnamon, orange, and ginger. Cool to room temperature and keep stored in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 1 week. (Steep for up to 1 hour for more intense flavor.)
