Hemingway Daiquiri

The Hemingway Daiquiri consists of white rum, lime juice, grapefruit juice, and maraschino liqueur.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz white rum
  • 1/2 oz grapefruit juice
  • 3/4 oz lime juice
  • 1/4 oz maraschino cherry liquid * see notes
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup , recipe follows
  • grapefruit peel or orange peel , to garnish
  • maraschino cherries , to garnish

Instructions

  • 1. Fill a cocktail shaker with a handful of ice. Add all ingredients to shaker. Cover and shake. Strain chilled cocktail and serve in a coupe cocktail glass. Garnish with grapefruit peel and maraschino cherry, if desired.

Notes

Simple Syrup: Bring to a boil 1 part water and 1 part granulated sugar. Keep chilled in the fridge until ready to use. Keeps for one week.
*Note: I used the liquid from the bottled maraschino cherries. Traditionally, this cocktail is made with maraschino liqueur.
