Cinnamon Sugar Milk Bread Toast (Cinnamon Sugar Toast)

Cinnamon sugar toast is a quick and easy anytime pick me up! It only takes one minute under the broiler setting to caramelize. Also known as brick toast, top this sweet treat with ice cream, whipped cream, berries, or sweetened condensed milk.

Ingredients

1 thick slice of Japanese Milk Bread, or store-bought sliced brioche or any rich milk bread
½ Tbsp salted butter, softened
2 tsp cinnamon sugar
drizzle of sweetened condensed milk, optional*

Cinnamon Sugar:

1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 Tbsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

Set oven to broiler setting. Place thick slice of milk bread on baking sheet. Spread salted butter over one side of bread. Sprinkle 2tsp cinnamon sugar over buttered bread. Place until broiler for 50-70 seconds until the sugar has started to caramelize.

Cinnamon Sugar:

Pulse granulated sugar and cinnamon together until sugar is fine. Alternately, simply whisk together sugar and cinnamon.

Notes

For a super rich and decadent milk toast: spread salted butter over bread, drizzle sweetened condensed milk over butter, then sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top. Place under broiler for 50-70 seconds until sugar has melted.
