Ginger Peach Cooler

Ginger Peach Cooler | The Little Epicurean

The weekend is almost here!  You need a drink, I need a drink, let’s have a cocktail party!

I’ve always wanted to throw a cocktail party.  Nothing like those let’s drink until we run out of alcohol parties in college, but a classy, let’s have interesting and worldly conversions in my gorgeous backyard kind of party.

I have the cocktails, however I’m still working on that backyard.  I currently live in awesome townhouse surrounded by plenty of trees and flowers, but I just have a small porch/patio with a couple herbs and a small “money tree” (also known as Pachira Aquatica).  So, in the meantime imagine with me.

When I do have a giant backyard with fruit trees and herb beds and a swing set and a tree house, I am definitely inviting you over a cocktail party.  I’ll tell you about how I grew the peaches and limes.  How I’m constantly fighting with gophers and aphids and other gardening woes.  Why peaches and lime?  Because those are two important components of this deliciously tasty ginger peach cooler.

I’ve got time.  I’ll give myself until 35.  I think I can make this dream backyard happen.

Last week during my week of painful sore throat, coughing fits, and general ill feeling days, I made this ginger peach limeade.  As soon as I was up to usual self again (and no longer camped out on the couch), I turned that limeade into a refreshing summer cocktail.

Peach and ginger sound like an awesome combination! Great seasonal summer cocktail. I am living in a rental apartment. We do have a yard, so we can sit outside and have a small BBQ. But it is not our own place after all. Like you said, I hope to have my own backyard one day. Keep our fingers crossing! :)
